Captain Thanos was born on July 13, 1978. He is a graduate of the Merchant Marine Academy and holds a Captain’s First-Class Diploma. He also holds certificates in SSO (Ship security officer), GMDSS, Arpa, Radar, Ecdis, Brm, Firefighting, and First Aid/Medical care on board. Captain Thanasis has 21 years of experience in the yachting industry; of which he has spent 13 years as a captain on high-specification motor commercial yachts. With excellent knowledge of the Aegean, Ionian, and Mediterranean waters, he can be relied on to recommend the right place for the right occasion, from cosmopolitan full-service beach clubs on popular islands to deserted sandy beaches off the beaten track. His hobbies include sailing, basketball, fishing, and martial arts. Captain Thanasis speaks English, is married, and has two children.

Chief Officer / Stelios Andrianopoulos
Nationality: Greek
Stelios holds a Class B license and graduated from the Merchant Marine Academy. He completed the traditional Merchant Marine training, having gained his seaman skills from working on board various RO/RO cargo vessels and passenger ships before moving to the luxury yachting industry in 2018. Prior to joining M/Y ALEXANDRA Stelios was a Second Officer on M/Y LADY SARYA. He has extensive experience on passenger ships. He is a great team leader and works well under pressure. When Stelios is not at sea, he loves travelling and sports. He speaks English fluently.

Chief Engineer / Lampros Georgousis
Nationality: Greek
Lampros is a graduate of the Merchant Academy and holds the highest-level Class A Engineering Diploma. He started his career onboard commercial ships and cruise ships for 16 years before deciding to pursue a career in the luxury marine industry. He holds certificates in SSO, lifesaving, and firefighting, including V1-2 and V3. He joined Alexandra years ago working his way up from 2nd engineer to chief engineer. Lampros is responsible for service and maintenance overseeing the main engines, generators, and all mechanical–electrical systems. He is married with two children. He speaks English and Greek. In his free time, Lampros likes travelling and sports.

2nd Engineer / Nektarios Pallis
Nationality: Greek
Nektarios is a graduate of the Merchant Academy and holds a Class B Engineering diploma. He started his career onboard commercial ships and cruise ships for 11 years before deciding to pursue a career in the luxury marine industry. Nektarios also has certificates in Ro/Ro & Passenger Ship Safety, Life Saving, and Fire Fighting. He is married with one child and speaks English and Greek. In his free time, Nektarios likes travelling, going to the cinema, and sports. 


Chef / Konstantinos Baroutis
Nationality: Greek

Konstantinos brings over a decade of experience in high-end gastronomy, both on land and now at sea aboard M/Y Alexandra. A graduate of IEK Le Monde’s Culinary Arts program, he has honed his craft in some of Greece’s most acclaimed kitchens, including Varoulko with Lefteris Lazarou, CTC with Alexandros Tsiotinis, and Funky Gourmet with Georgianna Hiliadaki and Nikos Roussos. He also brings international experience from his time as Head Chef at Le Lyrique in Lausanne, Switzerland. Known for his creativity, discipline, and deep love for Greek and Mediterranean cuisine, Konstantinos combines fine-dining technique with fresh, seasonal ingredients to create thoughtful, elegant menus tailored to every guest’s preferences. His calm presence, attention to detail, and passion for hospitality make him an invaluable part of the Alexandra crew.

Chief Stewardess / Maria Papalrexi
Nationality: Greek

Maria was born in 1976. Prior to joining the luxury yachting industry Maria worked as a Supervisor and Manager at various retail stores as well as working in the hospitality industry at various bars/cars and restaurants building upon her customer service skills. Maria is a great addition to the team and is always happy to take on more responsibilities and offer a helpful hand in the galley when required. Maria speaks English and Greek. In her spare time she likes to hike, climb and go stand up paddle boarding as well as being a freelance beautician having completed various seminars.

Her previous yachts include: M/Y Rini V.

2nd Stewardess / Efstathia Galanopoulou
Nationality: Greek

2nd Stew Efstathia is an energetic and adaptable individual with a strong foundation in nursing (BSc Nursing), hospitality, and aesthetics, combined with hands-on experience in the yachting world. Having trained and worked as a nurse for many years together with her offshore sailing diploma and medical support experience, her calm demeanor and attention to detail in high-pressure environments is a perfect match for working in the yachting industry! Adept at creating a warm, luxurious guest experience while maintaining safety and hygiene to the highest standards. Efstathia looks forward to welcoming you onboard!

3rd Stewardess / Sevi Yulianova
Nationality : Bulgarian

Meet Sevi, hailing from Bulgaria and fluent in Greek, English, and Bulgarian, with a working proficiency in German and Turkish. Her passion for beauty led her to nail art training and owning a spa in Crete before venturing into the luxury yachting realm aboard M/Y O'PTASIA, where she discovered her love for the job. With a robust hospitality background and a commitment to delivering top-notch service, Sevi eagerly anticipates taking care of you onboard with warmth and professionalism.

4th Stewardess / Anna Arvaniti

4th Stew Anna holds a degree in Interior Architecture and Graphic Design from the Vakalo Art & Design College. A highly organized individual, she offers excellent service to all guests onboard Alexandra, ensuring that everyone has an enjoyable and comfortable time. Having worked for many years in the Hospitality Industry, she is very experienced, delivering only the highest standards.

Bosun / Antonios Simitsopoulos
Nationality: Greek

Antonios brings over a decade of hands-on experience in the yachting industry, with a solid track record on both private and charter yachts. Currently serving as Bosun on M/Y Alexandra, he is known for his strong work ethic, technical know-how, and positive, can-do attitude. His previous roles include AB on M/Y Varmar (55m) for four years and deckhand on the 116m M/Y Radiant, where he was also part of a major refit project at Lürssen Shipyard in Hamburg. He holds a wide range of maritime certifications including STCW, RYA Powerboat Level 2, Skipper license, Bosun license, and SSO A+B. With a background in mechanical engineering studies and past shore-based experience in technical roles, Antonios combines practical skills with a detail-oriented approach. Outside of work, he enjoys football, reading, swimming, and travel.

Deckhand / Dimitris Spanos
Nationality: Greek

Deckhand Dimitris, raised by the sea, with experience as part of the sailing team of Piraeus, is deeply ingrained in maritime life. Spending his summers aboard the family's rib, he developed a profound connection with the sea from an early age. Armed with a degree in Microelectronics, Dimitris is a skilled problem solver with exceptional communication abilities, rendering him an indispensable and energetic asset to the team. Outside of his duties, he finds solace in sailing, speed boating, traveling, and fishing. With notable previous yachts such as Timbuktu and Polyaigos, Dimitris brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to every endeavor.

Deckhand Stefanos joined the yachting industry in 2024, with all the necessary training. He is a hardworking person, with a positive attitude, and is always happy to help in all departments with various tasks. He speaks English and Greek.

Questions & Answers

How does the charter contract work?

The contract is signed directly between the Owner and the Charterer, with the support of the broker. It is usually based on the international MYBA contract model, designed to ensure clear and balanced protection for both parties.
There is also the figure of the Stakeholder, responsible for safely holding the funds until the end of the charter.

What is included in the charter fee?

The base rate includes the rental of the yacht, the use of all onboard equipment, the presence of the crew, and the related insurance coverage.
Operational expenses such as fuel, provisioning, marina fees, beverages, and additional activities are not included and are managed through the APA (Advance Provisioning Allowance).

The exact list of what is included or excluded will be confirmed when selecting the yacht.

What is the APA and how does it work?

The APA (Advance Provisioning Allowance) is an advance fund, usually equal to 25–35% of the charter fee, allocated to cover operational expenses such as fuel, provisioning, marina fees, paid activities, beverages, and the guests’ personalized requests.

At the end of the cruise, the Captain provides a detailed breakdown of all expenditures. Any unused amount is refunded to the client, while any overages are settled directly upon closing the charter.

What are the payment terms?

Upon signing the contract, a payment of 50% of the total amount is required.
The balance — including APA, taxes, and any additional charges — is typically due around five weeks before embarkation (depending on the owner).
Payments are made via bank transfer, which is the standard method in the luxury charter industry.

Can I cancel a booking?

Yes, cancellations are possible, but the contractual terms apply.
In general, if the client decides to withdraw, the Owner retains the deposits already paid.

If the yacht is rebooked for the same period, the Owner refunds the amount recovered, minus the applicable commissions.

Every cancellation request is handled with full transparency.

How can I choose the yacht that best suits my needs?

The choice depends primarily on the type of experience you wish to enjoy:

  • Motor yacht for maximum comfort, excellent stability, and fast transfers.

  • Sailing yacht for an authentic, quiet experience rooted in traditional navigation.

  • Catamaran for generous spaces, superior stability, and enhanced privacy.

How far in advance should I book?

For peak season (Mediterranean: June–September; Caribbean: December–April), it is advisable to book several months in advance to secure the best available options.

Is it possible to personalise menus, preferences, and activities?

Absolutely. Before departure, you will receive a Preference Sheet where you can indicate your tastes, dietary needs, allergies, beverage preferences, and the activities you wish to enjoy.
The Chef and the Captain will use this information to create a fully customised experience for you.

How many guests can be accommodated on board?

Most yachts can host 6 to 12 guests, depending on their interior layout.
Some superyachts over 80 metres, compliant with international certifications, can accommodate up to 36 guests.

Will I have Internet access during the charter?

Most yachts offer Wi-Fi on board, provided through mobile networks or satellite systems. The quality and speed of the connection may vary depending on the cruising area and the technology installed.

Is tipping the crew expected?

Tipping is not mandatory, but it is a well-established custom to show appreciation for the crew’s service.
International guidelines suggest an amount equal to 10–15% of the base charter fee as a reference.
