Day 1: Check-in
On Saturday afternoon from 14:00 you will be met by the skipper at the Skiathos Marina to take your place in your cabin, prepare your galley list and do your shopping. In the evening the crew and skipper will have the opportunity to get to know each other better over a seafood dish in a typical Greek restaurant on Skiathos, before ending the evening in one of the many bars that populate this delightful seaside town.
Day 2
Kissed by the sun, we prepare the cockpit table and start the day with a hearty breakfast. Putting on our fins and mask, we explore the bay in all its underwater beauty. We climb back on board, open the sails and set sail again, heading east, passing between the islets of Arkos and Tsoungria in the direction of Limonari Bay on the beautiful island of Skopelos. After snorkelling in its crystal-clear waters, we prepare to watch the sunset by having an aperitif and preparing for a succulent dinner on board.
Day 3
After a hearty breakfast and the inevitable dives, we will cast off our moorings and sail in a north-westerly direction across the strip of sea that separates the island of Skopelos from Alosissios until we land in the beautiful bay of Mourtia. We will be able to enjoy its crystal-clear waters, but at the same time we will be able to go ashore by dinghy and immerse ourselves in the greenery, following a beautiful path that leads to the ancient village of Chora in half an hour. Now we just have to decide on which terrace we will enjoy a good aperitif with a view of the island. Back on board, we get ready for dinner and another night where we will be rocked by the waves.
Day 4
Waking up in the roadstead provides the privileged dilemma of choosing whether to dive in and then have breakfast or vice versa. Satisfied with sea and sun, we open the sails again and head north/west up the beautiful coast of Alonissos until we land in the harbour of the cosy little village of Steni vala. The characteristic Greek 'taverna' serving tasty fish dishes and its tables by the sea will be a temptation that is hard to resist.
Day 5
After a hearty breakfast, we cannot miss the opportunity to visit the Mediterranean monk seal care centre. The centre specialises in taking in newborn seals and is considered the 'home', in the literal sense, of orphaned pups. Back in the boat, we take off our moorings and set sail again, and sail up north-east towards the island of Kira Panaya. Wild and beautiful, the island lies in the heart of the Sporades Islands National Marine Park, immersed in a green oasis of mastic trees, oaks and orchards. It belongs to the Monastic Republic of Mount Athos. In fact, a post-Byzantine monastery was recently restored, where two monks (the only inhabitants of the island) live and produce and sell wine and oil.
Day 6
Waking up surrounded by nature and far from civilisation is a fortunate constant that accompanies us on this day too. We set sail and unfurl the mainsail and genoa and head southwest towards another pearl of the Sporades, the island of Peristera. We will be spoilt for choice between which of its beautiful bays to drop anchor. Ormos Vasilikò, Klima or the bay of Peristera itself are a paradise for monk seals (which breed in these waters) and kri kri goats.
Day 7
Satiated with unspoilt wilderness, it is time to start sailing again. We enjoy sailing for a few miles and between tacking and turning we head for the quaint town of Skopelos, the main port on the island of the same name. A town of white houses and red roofs, Skopelos spreads out around the medieval castle with its wide views of the Aegean Sea. The town has everything you need for a quiet stop, from typical taverns where you can enjoy fresh fish and produce, to small cafés where you can stop for a drink, to craft shops and delicious pastry shops. Strolling through the narrow streets (strictly nameless), we can reach the church of S. Maria del Castello, where 70 steps separate us from a breathtaking view of the sea. And for fans of the film Mamma Mia, a drive to the picturesque church of Agios Ioannis Kastri, the set of the famous musical starring Marily Streep, which stands on a high cliff surrounded by the sea, can be arranged.
Day 8
Removing our moorings, we circumnavigate the island of Skopelos to arrive at the bay of Stafilos where diving and snorkelling will rule. There is also a path along the coast that leads us to the nearby beach of Velanio in a few minutes. Good food, good wine and a starry sky will once again accompany us on this umpteenth night in the roadstead.
Day 9
After breakfast, we open the sails and resume our circumnavigation of Skopelos to reach the bay of Panormou. Wearing masks and fins, we prepare ourselves for snorkelling among the fish that glisten on the sandy sea bed. The time passes slowly and pleasantly and it will be wonderful to be surprised by the colours of the evening while sitting in the cockpit enjoying an aperitif on the boat and perhaps going down to the beach to organise a barbecue and bonfire.
Day 10: Chek-out
Disembarkation is scheduled in the morning after breakfast by 12 noon.
