Holidays represent for all of us an important moment of amusement and relax, and never as today we would like to be able to take a break from daily life and think about booking our next trip.

According to the Legislative Decree 19.05.2020, no. 34 (so called “Decreto Rilancio”) (G.U. n. 128 of 19.05.2020) converted, with amendments, in Law 17.07.2020, no. 77 (G.U. n. 180 of 18.07.2020)  which has amended art. 88-bis of Law no. 27 of 24/04/20 (Decree "Cura Italia") regarding the refund discipline of travel tickets, holiday stay and tourist packages connected to the epidemiological emergency COVID-19, below we list the refund policies adopted by BeBlue S.r.l.


COVID-19: REFUND POLICIES

BeBlue has available more than 18,000 boats from ship owners all over the world. The ship owners we represent have prepared themselves for the current Covid-19 situation, providing us with dedicated cancellation, discount and rerouting policies.

The most common policies in this particular period

Depending on the chosen boat, the ship owner will apply its cancellation conditions for issues connected with Covid-19. Below we list a standard policy applied by many ship owners. The details and terms can vary according to the chosen boat.

In case of impossibility to reach the departure base because of restrictions and/or limitations by a public authority, 3 weeks before departure (and no later than one week before) a voucher can be issued under the following conditions:

Moreover, please note that a limited number of ship owners provide for a total refund of the paid amount only in case the customer is forced to cancel the booking for restrictions due to Covid-19. A total refund is guaranteed only under the following conditions:

Please check the cancellation terms directly with the BeBlue Team during the quotation and booking phase of your holiday to receive the detailed policy applied by the ship owner of the chosen boat.

Any changes to the booking could lead to price variations due to seasonality: if the new travel dates, the new selected boat and/or the alternative chosen destination are to entail a price reduction or an extra charge, the booking will be modified accordingly.

Service fees, variations and cancellation
In case of cancellation or changes in the booking, in addition to the contractual penalties that the ship owner might apply, a non-refundable fixed amount of € 100,00 per booking will be withheld for service fees (e.g. change of the trip dates, boat model, use of holiday voucher), plus a fixed cancellation/variation extra charge corresponding to the 3% of the value of the cancelled/modified operation. These amounts are not refundable and always due – they are not covered by the cancellation insurance potentially taken out.

COVID-19: REFUND POLICIES
Tours, flotillas and cabin cruises

For travelers unable to depart:

BeBlue S.r.l., depeding on the type of purchased holiday package, will be able to:

  1. offer the traveler a change of booking on new dates for the same destination of the initial booking, for a value equal or higher than the original booking;
  2. issue a holiday voucher equal to the amount of the sums paid to BeBlue S.r.l., which can be used for new bookings within 18 months from the emission date, on the available destinations for that type of holiday package, and according to the same procedures of the original booking (website, travel agency, supply partner);
  3. proceed with the refund of the paid amount, according to clause 12-bis of article 88-bis, “after a 18-month period from the emission date, for vouchers not used for the provision of services provided for in this article” within 14 days of expiry.
  4. For all other bookings and departures of travelers that are not referable to the previous points, we will consider the normal conditions as in the contract subscribed in the booking phase.

Service fees, variations and cancellation
The cancellation provides for the return of the entire paid amount, included the inclusive insurance policy AXA Base for health protection and luggage, through a holiday voucher. Service fees (€ 50,00 for each traveler) are excluded from the refund, as well as a fixed amount for cancellation/variation corresponding to 3% of the value of the cancelled/modified operation, and all potential additional policies available and that can be activated during the booking phase (e.g. AXA Cancellation, AXA Cancellation Light and All Risks). These amounts are not refundable and always due - they are not covered by the cancellation insurance potentially taken out.

We answer your questions

Below we have collected some of the most common questions about our cabin rent or flotilla tour offers related to Coronavirus. Since the situation is in constant evolution, this page will be updated on a regular basis so that together we can find the best solution for each single case.

To whom is the voucher registered? Is it transferable?
The voucher will be registered to the person who made the booking. No, the voucher is not transferable.

The new trip must be taken before the end of the period of validity of the voucher?
According to clause 12 (as modified by Law 77/2020), the voucher can be used also for the use of services after the period of validity, as long as their bookings are made within that deadline (so, within the 18-month period it is sufficient that the service is booked, even if it will be used at a later time).

Can I request the refund of the paid amount instead of the voucher?
You can obtain the refund after 18 months from the emission. According to art. 88-bis of Law no. 27 of 24/04/20, with regard to measures for the refund of travel tickets and tourist packages cancelled for reasons attributable to a health emergency, it is possible to issue vouchers with a value equal to the amount paid by travelers, instead of a reimbursement.

The changes made to art. 88 bis of Law no. 77 of 17/07/20 state that:

- the validity of all vouchers will be of 18 months from the original date of emission.
- the vouchers that are not used within the period of validity will be reimbursed at the end of the period of validity.
- The vouchers already issued and not yet used are intended as automatically extended without need of additional formalities and/or reissuing, directly transposing the new indications. Vouchers that are yet to be issued will report the updated information.

If I am not interested in travelling during the voucher’s period of validity, can I request the reimbursement of the amount already paid?
Yes, after 18 months from the date of issue – considering what indicated above.

What happens if I have to cancel the new trip for which the voucher has been used for personal reasons NOT connected to the Covid-19 emergency?
In this case, you will have to pay the penalties as indicated by the general booking conditions and, in case the penalty amounts are inferior to the value of the voucher used for the booking, the difference will be refunded with a new voucher. The new voucher can be used within 18 months according to the rules already mentioned.
