Becoming a captain at just 23, Christian has since led voyages across the globe, earning a reputation for his calm leadership and attention to detail. He takes pride in crafting personalized, memorable journeys with the support of his enthusiastic crew. When off duty, Christian enjoys cooking, hiking, golfing, diving, and working on DIY projects at home.

Jonathan Grew up in sunny South Africa in a coastal town surfing, fishing and sailing. After High school he attended University in Johannesburg to study Law. His love for the ocean never faded and once he completed his degree he wanted to get back to his passion. Naturally yachting was his calling. Now 8 years into his career and having completed his officer of the watch 3000 and now he is continuing in his endeavour to one day become a Master of his own vessel. His watersports, fishing, diving and general happy nature ensure the guests to have a great experience during their time onboard M/Y Alpha Waves.

Hailing from Southern California, Erica is a world traveler who’s explored over 40 countries and lived in cities like London, Hong Kong, and Barcelona. Now based between the south of France and Florida, she blends her love of food, travel, and the sea as a professional yacht chef. A UC Berkeley graduate and Ashburton Culinary School alum, Erica specializes in fresh, vibrant cuisine with Mediterranean, Asian, and health-focused influences—always using locally sourced ingredients. Outside the galley, she enjoys scuba diving, reading, and dreaming up her next adventure. Her top bucket-list destinations include the Maldives, Alaska, and the Galápagos.

Brittney Butler

Brittney is a Florida native who grew up on the water, mostly fishing with her father. Driven by a love for the ocean and a service-oriented career she found yachting to be the perfect fit for her. She thrives on curating experiences for guests from cocktails to theme parties. Aiming to create lifelong memories for guests! Her skills include tablescapes, floristry, crafting cocktails, leading a team, and always while wearing a smile. Brittney finds passion in sharing the beauty and adventure yachting offers. In her free time she enjoys yoga, the beach and hanging out with her little dog Lucy.

Ellie realized that she wanted to combine her passion for the sea and travel with her hospitality skill set and undertook her qualifications to begin her yachting career in 2022. Ellie strives to make every trip a memorable one for her guests by providing impeccable service.

Growing up in a rural town outside of Kansas city, Moussouri. Madison always had a passion for hospitality and creating unforgettable experiences for others. After working in various hotels and the hospitality industry she found herself in South Florida eager to begin her journey in the yachting world. Now, 1,5 years later, Madison has the privilege of working on yachts and she loves to give guests an amazing experience on the water. She thrives on making each trip special with her bubbly personality and attention to detail.

Growing up in Tampico, Mexico & graduating from for years of maritime college, Enrique has been working for over 9 years on commercial vessels and yachts. He has a background of working for larger vessels such as 850 ft crane-ship and super tankers. Originally from the north of Mexico, he enjoys traveling and sea life, on his free time he enjoys golfing, fishing, movies and having quality time with family and friends. He also loves traveling and great landscapes. He is a successful golfer and is a valuable part of the team of the beautiful ALPHA WAVES.

Zoe Melhmann

I’m an energetic & optimistic adventurer from Stockholm Sweden and for as long as I can remember, the ocean has always been a huge part of my life. Having grown up in a yachting family, this industry has always been a given for me, and I love it. I started my yachting career as 18 years old and I don’t regret anything. If I’m not traveling the seas as crew on a yacht, you can most likely find me under the surface diving, either scuba or free. I started scuba diving in 2017 and this year I finally got my Dive Master and freediver certification. And this is just the start, diving will never not be a part of my life.
If I’m not sailing or diving, I love spending my free time hiking, cooking, snowboarding and meeting new interesting people.

Johan Malan

Johan is from Johannesburg, South Africa and excelled in sports during his high school years, subsequently playing both professional basketball and rugby. He holds an Exercise Science degree and has trained various sports teams and athletes including a World Champion boxer. Johan has always been passionate about the ocean and wildlife. In 2006 he became a PADI Scuba Dive Instructor and eventually spent some years working on private islands in the Bahamas and Caribbean. This is also where Johan sharpened his offshore fishing skills for billfish, various pelagics and other edibles. During his spare time, Johan enjoys staying fit, playing piano, and doing photography, having won some awards for his wildlife photography. Johan looks forward to making your time onboard M/Y Alpha Waves special by facilitating the adventures you have dreamed of enjoying!
