NOT TO BE MISSED View- Close

Sailing along the coast of the Southern Peloponnese means being enchanted by an authentic Greece, made of small stone villages, silent bays, crystal-clear waters, and views that captivate at every mile. The departure is from Kalamata, an elegant city overlooking the homonymous gulf, famous for its olives and relaxed atmosphere. The port is the ideal point from which to set sail to explore one of the most suggestive and lesser-known areas of the Mediterranean. Sailing south, you encounter the marine village of Kardamili, refined and rich in history, nestled between olive trees and the sea. Further south, the village of Limeni surprises with its transparent waters and stone houses overlooking the bay, perfect for a seaside lunch. Not far away, the spectacular Diros Caves open up, a masterpiece of nature where you sail silently among stalactites and stalagmites illuminated by surreal reflections. Further south, Gerolimenas and the remote Porto Kagio offer shelter and silence, among wild cliffs and pirate legends. An unmissable stop is Elafonisos, with its Caribbean-like beaches such as Simos and Sarakiniko, where fine sand and turquoise waters create a dreamlike landscape. Finally, the mythological island of Kythira, cradle of the goddess Aphrodite, welcomes with its quiet villages, Venetian castles, and secret bays immersed in the Mediterranean scrub. A place that combines history, charm, and wild beauty. Every stop on this journey offers a different experience: between myth and nature, relaxation and discovery, always sailing in calm waters and landscapes that remain in the heart.

Questions & Answers

Do I need a boating license to charter a boat?

It depends on the type of boat and the option chosen.

For a charter with a skipper, no boating license is required. In the case of a charter without a skipper (bareboat), you must meet the requirements of the regulations of the country where you are sailing and present an adequate nautical CV.

For more information on boating licenses and current regulations, consult the dedicated page: https://www.bebluesailing.com/it/servizi-per-il-viaggiatore/patenti-nautiche

Is it possible to charter a boat with or without a skipper?

Yes. You can choose to charter with a professional skipper or, if you have experience and a boating license, charter without a skipper (bareboat). The BeBlue team is available to help you choose the solution best suited to your needs and the type of vacation you desire.

Can I charter a boat to join a flotilla?

Yes. It is possible to participate in a BeBlue flotilla by chartering a boat with a skipper, even without a boating license or sailing experience. The skipper takes care of managing the boat and navigation, while the crew can enjoy the flotilla experience in total relaxation, benefiting from BeBlue's organization and assistance.

Yes, but only in certain destinations and during specific times of the year.

The availability of charters for weekends or short periods depends on the season and the individual boat. We recommend contacting us to receive a personalized quote.

How long does a weekly charter normally last?

A weekly charter generally lasts 7 nights, with embarkation on Saturday afternoon and disembarkation the following Saturday morning. In some cases, different durations may be available, depending on the destination and boat availability.

How is the sailing itinerary structured?

If a skipper is present, the itinerary is defined together with the crew, taking into account the group's preferences and weather/sea conditions.

In the case of a charter without a skipper, the itinerary is decided by the guests and the captain, nautical chart in hand.

BeBlue is always available to provide support and advice on itineraries, the best stopovers, and technical route management.

How is provisioning (food and drink) managed on board?

Provisioning is the responsibility of the guests. It can be organized independently or ordered online with delivery directly to the boat, depending on the destination and the port of embarkation.

For more information on the provisioning service, consult the dedicated page: https://www.bebluesailing.com/it/servizi-per-il-viaggiatore/servizio-cambusa-online

What is included and what is not included in the charter/rental?

The charter generally includes the boat and its standard equipment.

Costs such as provisioning, fuel, ports, buoys, and any extra services are excluded. All details are always indicated clearly and transparently in the quote.

What types of insurance are available for the charter?

Various types of insurance are available designed to protect the skipper and crew, including:

  • third-party liability insurance (RC)

  • trip cancellation insurance

  • insurance covering the security deposit

All information on charter insurance is available here: https://www.bebluesailing.com/it/servizi-per-il-viaggiatore/assicurazioni-noleggio

Is it possible to request a skipper and hostess on board? What are the indicative costs?

Yes. BeBlue can propose qualified Italian crews, consisting of a skipper and, upon request, a hostess/cook.

Indicative weekly costs are:

  • Skipper: approximately €1,400 – €1,750 per week

  • Hostess/cook: approximately €1,250 – €1,600 per week

The hostess's duties generally include managing the kitchen, tidying up common areas, and supporting life on board. Operational details are always clarified before booking, based on BeBlue guidelines.

How do I choose the boat best suited to my needs?

The choice of boat depends on the number of people, level of experience, destination, time of year, and budget. The BeBlue team supports you in selecting the most suitable boat, helping you compare models, layouts, and equipment to build a tailor-made vacation.

Is there Wi-Fi on board?

Some boat owners provide an on-board Wi-Fi modem service; the connection usually has the same range as a personal phone. for sailing outside Europe, we recommend using an eSIM or purchasing a local data SIM.

In Europe, free roaming is active, allowing you to use your phone plan just like at home. More information is available in the “Roaming abroad” section of the BeBlue website: https://www.bebluesailing.com/it/servizi-per-il-viaggiatore/Roaming%20all%27estero
