How to get to La Paz, Mexico
By plane

- La Paz has one airport: Manuel Márquez de León International Airport (LAP).
- There are domestic flights from several Mexican cities: Mexico City, Guadalajara, Monterrey, Tijuana, and others.
- If you are arriving from the United States, one option is to fly to Tijuana, cross the border (there is a pedestrian bridge called ‘Cross Border Xpress’ between Tijuana Airport and San Diego) and then take a flight to La Paz.
- You can also fly to Los Cabos (SJD) and from there reach La Paz by land.
By bus or car

- There is a road (Route 1 in Baja California) connecting La Paz with other cities on the peninsula.
- If you are in Los Cabos, you can rent a car and drive to La Paz. According to travellers, the route is fairly easy.
By ferry/sea

- There are ferries connecting the Baja California peninsula with the mainland: for example, from Mazatlán and Topolobampo (Sinaloa) you can take ferries to Pichilingue, the port near La Paz.
- If you have a boat or yacht, you can arrive directly at the port of La Paz.

- There are shuttles that run between Los Cabos Airport and La Paz.
- The price of an EcoBaja shuttle (round trip) can be ~ 985 Mexican pesos (depending on the time of day).
🚕 Ways to get from the airport to the Marina in La Paz
Taxi

- Taking a taxi is the easiest and fastest way. According to Rome2Rio, a taxi from the airport to the centre/La Paz area costs between 700 and 900 pesos.
- The journey takes about 9 minutes according to the same source.
- There are official taxis around the airport, so you can go outside and take one from the taxi rank.
Shuttle

- You can book a private transfer (van, minivan) with companies such as Intui Travel.
- Or book a transfer from La Paz Airport to your accommodation nearby/to the marina with MyTransfers.
- If you book with a nautical base (e.g. for a sailing holiday), some of them organise the transfer from the airport to the marina directly. Santana Sailing indicates that the taxi ride from the airport to their base (marina) takes ~30 minutes.
Car hire

- If you prefer to travel independently, you can hire a car. Exit the airport terminal, take the Carretera Transpeninsular/México 1 road and follow it towards La Paz. The drive from the airport to the marina is fairly straightforward.
- Bear in mind that there may be a toll (~70 pesos) on some sections of the road.
