By plane: from Italy we recommend flying on Bodø (iata code: BOO) by calling in Oslo. We suggest evaluating a stop / overnight stay in beautiful Oslo. Bodø Airport and the departure point of the cruise is a 10-minute walk from the small marina where the boats will be moored. What temperature should we expect? The Lofoten are heated by the Gulf Stream which brings the temperature from 15 to 25 degrees in the month of June. However, the boats are all heated and equipped for navigation in the Arctic waters. |

Day 1: Check-in
Check-in in the afternoon in Svolvær, the capital of the Lofoten Islands. This wonderful town born as a fishing village is a pastel-colored mosaic of traditional wooden houses built on the rocks and overlooking the Norwegian Sea. Here you can meet the crew and, after you have taken your place on board, we will present the program of the week.
Day 2
After breakfast, there will be a short briefing on board to make you familiar with the boat equipment. Then, we can take a short walk around the beautiful town of Svolvær and complete the final preparations. We set sail towards the north heading for Austnesfjord, one of the most fascinating fjords in the region, surrounded by beautiful snow-capped mountains.
Day 3
We wear our skis to go up the mountains on the northern side of Austnesfjord. Here you will find different paths, from the easiest to the most challenging and famous ones of Geitgaljen and Higravtindene. Fun is guaranteed! In the evening, we leave Austnesfjord to head for the enchanting Trollfjord, the name of which (“fjord of the trolls”) recalls the fairytale setting where we will spend the evening.
Day 4
We leave at sunrise, before the sun starts to warm up the hills, to reach the high peaks (more than 1,000 meters) surrounding this spectacular fjord. Almost 2 km long, it separates the Lofoten from the Vesterålen Islands, the two archipelagos north of Norway. Its steep cliffs narrow until they are only 100 meters wide: a breath-taking scenery for a fun downhill skiing before getting back on board and prepare dinner.
Day 5
Short navigation to the north in the suggestive Trollfjord and, before the sun gets too hot, you will be wearing your skis and enjoying the paths on the high peaks that characterize this area. In the afternoon, we set sail towards the north-east in the direction of Raftsundet.
Day 6
The day is dedicated to the exploration of the Raftsundet area, on the eastern part of Trollfjord. Here you will find wonderful paths for peaceful walks in the snow or fun skiing excursions for breath-taking descents. Not to mention the wild and uncontaminated nature of this place: from the mountains you can admire one of the most spectacular landscapes of the Lofoten Archipelago.
Day 7
We proceed to the north along the western coast of Hinnøya Island, where you will be astounded by the picture-perfect landscape of the Møysalen Natural Reserve: an upland covered by forests with snow-capped peaks and deeply carved by spectacular fjords. In the evening, we take our way back to Svolvær and prepare the equipment for a last fantastic day of skiing.
Day 8: Check-out
After a rich breakfast, we leave early for a last fun descent from one of the peaks along the coast nearby Svolvær. We return to the port in the late morning, and we will have time to explore the beautiful town that dates back to the Viking period and is considered the most ancient of the Arctic Circle. Here you can also visit the Lofote Temagalleri, a museum entirely dedicated to the art of cod and whale fishing, while waiting for your flight in the evening.
