✅ Main options for getting to Koh Chang
✈️ Flight + ferry
- You can fly from Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi Airport, BKK) to Trat Airport (TDX) with Bangkok Airways — the flight takes about 1 hour.
- From Trat Airport, take a taxi or minivan to the pier (30–60 minutes), and from there, take a ferry to Koh Chang (30–45 minutes).
This is the fastest and most convenient method — ideal if you are arriving from far away or want to save time.
🚍 Bus (or minivan) + ferry
- You can depart from Bangkok (Ekkamai Bus Terminal or Mo Chit Bus Terminal) and take a bus to the Trat area or directly to the piers: the journey takes about 5–6 hours.
- From the pier, take a ferry to Koh Chang (30–45 minutes).
The total cost is relatively low, and it is the most economical solution for those travelling on a budget.
🚖 Private transfer + ferry
You can book a private transfer (taxi or minivan) from Bangkok to the pier for Koh Chang: this is especially convenient if you are travelling in a group or have a lot of luggage.
From there, continue by ferry to the island.
This option is more expensive but offers convenience and flexibility — useful if you arrive late or prefer to avoid changing transport.
