The Rías Baixas are easily accessible by car, following the signs to the main tourist ports in the area, such as Sanxenxo, Combarro, or Vigo. By train, you can comfortably reach Pontevedra or Vigo, served by national connections. The nearest airport is Vigo (IATA code: VGO), about 30 minutes by car from the port, or Santiago de Compostela airport (SCQ), well connected and about an hour away.

Day 1: Check-in

The journey begins with the arrival at the spectacular Cíes Islands, in the heart of the Atlantic Islands National Park. You reach Monteagudo by boat from Vigo, and right away the pristine white sand of Playa de Rodas captures your gaze. A walk along the well-marked trails leads to the Faro de Cíes, from where a breathtaking view of the ocean and nearby islands unfolds. Nature takes center stage: seagulls, endemic plants, crystal-clear waters. It is possible to camp overnight on the island to fully experience the magic of the place.

Day 2

The following day, continue the exploration by walking to the Island of Faro, via a walkway between the two islands. Here, the landscapes become wilder, and the path towards the Faro da Porta offers more unforgettable views. Those who have the opportunity can add a boat excursion to the more remote Island of San Martiño, an untouched corner accessible only by private sea. The calm waters are perfect for snorkeling or simply losing oneself in the silence.

Day 3

On the third day, we change archipelago and head to the Island of Ons, another natural gem. Here, you can walk to the large central lighthouse and the Cueva do Inferno, a legendary cave surrounded by mysteries and salty wind. The island is lively and authentic, with small restaurants where you can enjoy the famous Galician octopus. Playa de Melide, nestled in nature, invites you to pure relaxation, away from the hustle and bustle.

Day 4

The fourth day is dedicated to the mysterious Island of Sálvora, accessible only with authorized guides. You disembark in an almost mythological setting, with an old abandoned village, stone sculptures, and an isolated lighthouse. The landscape is rocky and evocative, and the entire visit takes place in respectful silence. Sometimes, during the boat crossing, dolphins are spotted.

Day 5

Next is the Island of Cortegada, small but special, famous for hosting the largest laurel forest in Europe. The journey begins from Carril, also known for its oysters. The path on the island traverses lush nature, amidst ruins of ancient religious buildings and a profound peace. After the visit, a tasting of fresh seafood in the small port restaurants is almost mandatory.

Day 6

On the sixth day, you explore Illa de Arousa, connected to the mainland by a bridge. Discover wild beaches, such as those in the Carreirón Reserve, and views reminiscent of Ireland or Brittany. With a short kayak or boat trip, you reach the islet of Areoso: a small Caribbean paradise in the middle of the Atlantic, with white sand, clear water, and no buildings. Perfect for a timeless swim.

Day 7 : Check-out

The journey concludes with a relaxing day at Ensenada de Liméns, near Cangas do Morrazo. A quiet bay, surrounded by pine trees and fine sand, ideal for recharging your energy. Here you can walk among the cliffs, go snorkeling, or simply enjoy the sound of the sea. The proximity to the village of Cangas allows you to end the trip with an authentic touch, perhaps with a seafood dinner watching the sunset over the Atlantic.

Day 1 : Check - in

The journey begins in Baiona, a noble village overlooking the Atlantic, where the ancient stones of the Monterreal fortress tell tales of galleons and battles. Walking along the Paseo Monte Boi immediately offers a sense of openness and marine tranquility, while the historic center vibrates with life among tapas and terraces overlooking the harbor. From here, we set sail towards a more hidden and memory-laden place: the Island of San Simón, in the heart of the Ría de Vigo. Once a monastery, then a quarantine station, and finally a prison, today it is a silent and enveloping island, with historical echoes and a discreet beauty. The tree-lined paths and old structures offer an experience suspended in time, far from hurried tourism.

Day 2

Continuing on, you leave the inner ría and sail westward, skirting the less frequented inlets, until you reach the splendid Ría de Aldán, small but surprising. This stretch of coast is one of Galicia's most intimate gems: hidden beaches among the pines, like Menduiña or Areabrava, clear waters that seem Caribbean, and still authentic fishing villages. Here time slows down, and the contact with the landscape is direct: you can explore by kayak, on foot, or simply stay on the shore, breathing in the resin of the trees and the salty smell.

Day 3

The next day, the coastal journey resumes as we head north, entering the wider and more populated Ría de Arousa, until reaching Puebla do Caramiñal. This elegant and tranquil town, nestled among palm trees and ancient Indian mansions, is an excellent spot to explore the contrasts of the ría: on one side, the bustling activity of the ports and bateas (mussel platforms), and on the other, the green soul of the hinterland. The trails that ascend inland, such as the Mirador da Curota, offer spectacular views of the entire ría archipelago.

Day 4

From Puebla, continue along the calm waters of the Ría de Muros e Noia, where you stop at Muros, a charming ancient fishing village. The stone houses with sea-facing arcades, the moored boats, and the hills gently sloping towards the ría create a serene and timeless atmosphere. Here, Galicia reveals itself in its truest form: slow, humid, rooted. It's worth getting lost in the narrow streets, tasting the simplest fish dishes, and listening to the sound of sails in the harbor.

Day 5

After Muros, we head south again and arrive at San Vicente do Mar, on the O Grove peninsula. The environment changes: the sea becomes more open, and the horizon broadens. The wooden walkways along the cliffs offer one of the most picturesque walks on the coast, amidst the sound of the waves and the wind beating against the rocks. The beaches, such as A Barrosa or Pedras Negras, are wide and wild, ideal for a contemplative stop or a dip in the pure ocean waters.

Day 6

The penultimate day leads to the secluded and little-known Ensenada de Barra, near Cangas. Here the coast becomes more intimate and sheltered, with white sandy coves nestled among the pines. Playa de Barra, with its free and natural atmosphere, is one of the most beautiful and tranquil beaches in the area. You can feel a beneficial sense of isolation, in a still wild environment where you can fully enjoy the silence and nature.

Day 7: Check-out

Finally, the circle closes with the return to Ensenada de Baiona, embracing the coast from the west, with a view that returns to the Cíes Islands in the distance. After days of discoveries, sea, and history, this bay represents a return to a starting point that now feels different, denser. Here concludes an itinerary that is not just a coastal route, but a slow journey through the truest soul of Galicia, made of silences, wind, tides, and small ports that tell centuries of life.

Day 1 : Check - in

The journey begins in the beautiful Baiona, where boats gently sway in the harbor beneath the walls of the Monterreal fortress. From here, we set sail along the Ría de Vigo, leaving the open ocean behind and skirting the inner coast between maritime pines and fishing villages. The navigation leads to San Adrián de Cobres, a small welcoming port nestled in the tranquility of the eastern side of the ría. The atmosphere is intimate, with a landscape alternating between calm waters, oyster farming areas, and hills covered with eucalyptus trees.

Day 2

The next day, we set sail northward, crossing the waters that separate the Morrazo Peninsula from O Grove. The route enters the Ría de Pontevedra, passing near the Ons Islands, which can be glimpsed on the horizon. The coast is rugged and lively, dotted with coves and small beaches, leading to the vibrant harbor of Sanxenxo, one of the most bustling seaside resorts in the area. Here, the contrast between elegant tourism and the seafaring spirit creates a dynamic environment that is always connected to the sea.

Day 3

From Sanxenxo, we set off on a shorter but enchanting sail towards the ancient village of Combarro, a true stone gem overlooking the ría. Its narrow streets are lined with hórreos (elevated granaries) built over the sea and carefully carved granite crosses. Combarro is a place that seems to have emerged from a distant time, perfect for getting lost among its low houses, traditional taverns, and small boats moored along the pier.

Day 4

Continuing, we turn towards the island connected to the mainland: A Toxa, famous for its thermal baths, fragrant soaps, and the elegant landscape surrounding the historic hotel and the chapel covered in shells. Here the sea becomes calmer, the light reflects between pine forests and 19th-century buildings. It is a stop that invites self-care and slowness, a moment to breathe in the continuity of the journey.

Day 5

Leaving A Toxa, we sail along the Ría de Arousa, the largest and most generous of the Galician rías. The navigation passes through a landscape dotted with bateas for mussel farming and historic villages. We pass by Puebla do Caramiñal and Vilagarcía de Arousa, lively port towns where you can feel the true rhythm of the Rías Baixas: industrious, authentic, and always connected to the sea. The ports come alive at dusk, with fish markets, waterfront terraces, and boats returning.

Day 6

The next day, the journey changes pace and mode. We leave the sailboat to board a motorboat and ascend the Ulla River, an ancient natural channel that once brought pilgrims to the heart of Galicia. The navigation is calm, amidst green curves and silent banks, until reaching Padrón, a legendary village where, according to tradition, the boat carrying the body of the Apostle James docked. Here begins the last stretch of the journey, this time on foot.

Day 7: Check-out

The last day is an exciting stretch of the Camino de Santiago, walked from Padrón to Santiago de Compostela. The landscape transforms: woods, rural villages, mossy stones, and ancient paths accompany the steps towards the destination. The arrival in Santiago is full of meaning, culminating with the entrance into the Praza do Obradoiro and the imposing facade of the cathedral.
