Born in Split May 1988 where he also finished his high school education for tourism and hotel management, he worked in his family business almost most of his life as a hospitality manager. As a family they have a strong connection with the sea, so 3 years ago they have decided to buy their first boat for nautical tourism. His parents stayed in restaurant business and Marin went to the sea to finally put together his love of the sea and hospitality. From the beginning he was recognized in the business due to his knowledge and experience; he regularly won the prize for the best service on board, but that was not enough for him, massive cabin charter tourism was not what fulfill Marin. So, he sold his boat and bought beautiful Cataleya and the only thing he is hoping for is that with his experience and enthusiasm he will be able to provide his guests with an unforgettable vacation. You will love Marin from the first moment you meet him, he is a very outgoing and cheerful person who is always there for his guests. He speaks English and some German and Italian.

Nemanja Kolarac was born on October 16, 1983. He pursued his education at the Hospitality and Tourism School, specializing as a culinary technician. After this, he continued his studies at Hospitality College. Throughout his career, Nemanja garnered extensive experience in various Belgrade restaurants, specializing in international and Italian cuisine. Additionally, he worked in several catering companies, catering to corporate events and concerts for renowned artists such as Madonna, Sting, and the Rolling Stones. Notable highlights of his career include working at the Intercontinental Hotel and Holiday Inn, where he catered to athletes and teams during the 2009 Summer Universiade in Belgrade, adhering to halal and kosher standards. Outside of work, Nemanja enjoys cycling, jewelry making, and origami and is keenly interested in history. He is a licensed driver, fluent in English, and adept at handling pressure. Furthermore, he actively engages in philanthropic endeavors, volunteering as a blood donor for over twenty hours and being part of the European bone marrow donor database. He is also a devoted father of three children.

Sailor Karlo was born in 1998 in the city of Split, Croatia. However, he spent his formative years growing up in the neigh-boring town of Solin. Coming from a family of entrepreneurs, Karlo was imbued with a strong work ethic and a sense of responsibility from a young age. Driven by his passion for the sea and maritime exploration, Karlo enrolled in the Naval School in Split, where he embarked on his journey to pursue a career in sailing. Despite the demanding nature of his studies, Karlo’s determination knew no bounds. He understood the value of hard work and responsibility and was unwavering in his commitment to achieving his goals. To finance his education and support himself through his studies, Karlo took on various jobs, displaying his resilience and resourcefulness. Whether working part-time at local establishments or taking on freelance opportunities, Karlo approached each task with diligence and dedication. Known for his approachability and willingness to help, Karlo is the kind of person one can always rely on, no matter the circumstances. He finds joy in the tranquility of the sea, often spending his free time sailing along the breathtaking Croatian coastlines. His love for the ocean and adventurous spirit are evident in his pursuits on and off the water.

Ivan Grčić was born and raised in Sinj. With a background in tourism and hospitality, Ivan has dedicated his life to guiding others through destinations, ensuring that every moment spent at sea is imbued with wonder and authenticity. As a deckhand on this sea voyage, Ivan’s presence promises an adventure filled with discoveries, companionship, and unforgettable moments. Each guest under Ivan’s care is invited into a shared and intensely personal story, making each journey across the sea a chapter worth enjoying. Looking forward to shared experiences, Ivan stands ready at the helm, eager to weave the unique stories of everyone on board into the fabric of this beautiful journey.

Luka was born in 1995 in a beautiful city by the sea called Šibenik, where he lived for 12 years before moving to Argentina. He stayed there a year, finishing the sixth grade, and moved to Zagreb. He has a BA degree in sociology from the University of Zagreb. During his student days, Luka started bartending and has been doing it since. From his first job in an alehouse in Zagreb through a cocktail bar in Vodice before embarking on Cataleya, he also has the experience of working in the National Park “Kornati” so he can share his knowledge and explain to the guests why it is such a fantastic place to visit. Luka speaks English and, thanks to his grandmother, who spent her working career in Germany, German as well. For Luka, working on Cataleya will be an immense pleasure and honor, as he loves the sea and is very excited to join the crew this summer and serve the guests.

Questions & Answers

How does the charter contract work?

The contract is signed directly between the Owner and the Charterer, with the support of the broker. It is usually based on the international MYBA contract model, designed to ensure clear and balanced protection for both parties.
There is also the figure of the Stakeholder, responsible for safely holding the funds until the end of the charter.

What is included in the charter fee?

The base rate includes the rental of the yacht, the use of all onboard equipment, the presence of the crew, and the related insurance coverage.
Operational expenses such as fuel, provisioning, marina fees, beverages, and additional activities are not included and are managed through the APA (Advance Provisioning Allowance).

The exact list of what is included or excluded will be confirmed when selecting the yacht.

What is the APA and how does it work?

The APA (Advance Provisioning Allowance) is an advance fund, usually equal to 25–35% of the charter fee, allocated to cover operational expenses such as fuel, provisioning, marina fees, paid activities, beverages, and the guests’ personalized requests.

At the end of the cruise, the Captain provides a detailed breakdown of all expenditures. Any unused amount is refunded to the client, while any overages are settled directly upon closing the charter.

What are the payment terms?

Upon signing the contract, a payment of 50% of the total amount is required.
The balance — including APA, taxes, and any additional charges — is typically due around five weeks before embarkation (depending on the owner).
Payments are made via bank transfer, which is the standard method in the luxury charter industry.

Can I cancel a booking?

Yes, cancellations are possible, but the contractual terms apply.
In general, if the client decides to withdraw, the Owner retains the deposits already paid.

If the yacht is rebooked for the same period, the Owner refunds the amount recovered, minus the applicable commissions.

Every cancellation request is handled with full transparency.

How can I choose the yacht that best suits my needs?

The choice depends primarily on the type of experience you wish to enjoy:

  • Motor yacht for maximum comfort, excellent stability, and fast transfers.

  • Sailing yacht for an authentic, quiet experience rooted in traditional navigation.

  • Catamaran for generous spaces, superior stability, and enhanced privacy.

How far in advance should I book?

For peak season (Mediterranean: June–September; Caribbean: December–April), it is advisable to book several months in advance to secure the best available options.
We can also handle last-minute requests, depending on availability and licensing requirements.

Is it possible to personalise menus, preferences, and activities?

Absolutely. Before departure, you will receive a Preference Sheet where you can indicate your tastes, dietary needs, allergies, beverage preferences, and the activities you wish to enjoy.
The Chef and the Captain will use this information to create a fully customised experience for you.

How many guests can be accommodated on board?

Most yachts can host 6 to 12 guests, depending on their interior layout.
Some superyachts over 80 metres, compliant with international certifications, can accommodate up to 36 guests.

Will I have Internet access during the charter?

Most yachts offer Wi-Fi on board, provided through mobile networks or satellite systems. The quality and speed of the connection may vary depending on the cruising area and the technology installed.

Is tipping the crew expected?

Tipping is not mandatory, but it is a well-established custom to show appreciation for the crew’s service.
International guidelines suggest an amount equal to 10–15% of the base charter fee as a reference.
