Thibault Casabianca - Captain

Gaining his earliest experience sailing his dad’s Jeanneau yacht, Thibault Casabianca has always felt a deep connection with the ocean and yachting, and is still a keen surfer and angler. For this reason, he turned his passion into his profession and pursued a career in the charter yacht industry.

Since 2012, Thibault has held various positions on commercial vessels, working his way up from Deckhand to Chief Engineer and Captain of several charter yachts, most recently the 80ft Sunreef SY Nomad.

He brings to his role of Captain of SY BABAC an optimal knowledge of navigation, marine engineering, boating safety standards, vessel maintenance, yard period scheduling, administration and management.

He holds his 500T UMS Captain license, Engineering qualifications, PADI license and is fluent in English and French. When he’s not working, he can still be found somewhere on the water, most likely aboard his own 19ft Tahitian fishing boat, surfing or competing in his local body boarding competitions.

Motivated and dynamic, Thibault is a genuine team player who believes his unique compliment of skills and natural abilities ensures he provides charter guests with the highest quality of service.

Jessica Rotillon - Chef/Stewardess

Jessica joins BABAC from several years working aboard superyachts and for private clients around the world. During the course of her career, she has also worked as Chief Stewardess, Deckhand, Personal Assistant and in hospitality and retail in Tahiti.
A creative and passionate Chef, she happy in the galley conjuring menus and meals to suit adults, kids and even pets!
“I love the challenge of learning new dishes. I love creating meals that are beautiful and delicious. I also take pride in provisioning, organising meal plans and a tidy galley, keeping stock of inventory.”
Jessica lists her culinary skills as spanning French, Tahitian, Italian, Seafood, Thai, Japanese, Chinese, Thai, American (BBQ), Vegan, Keto, Vegetarian and Pastry.
Fluent in French and English, Jessica is highly organised, extremely motivated and takes a positive, approach to every task.
“I can accommodate any last-minute changes and special requests to ensure everything is done to the highest standard.”
From her world travels, Jessica is equipped with her PADI license and has trained in Kung Fu and open water diving. Her interests include diving, wakeboarding, snorkelling, surfing and hiking. She also enjoys live music, comedy theatre, art, animals and learning about cultures, as well as dining out in search of new taste sensations for her own culinary inspiration.

Raven Gonzalez - Stewardess / Deckhand

Born in Florida and raised on the water, Raven has been active in watersports her whole life. So, it was only natural that after acquiring Degree qualifications in Pre-Vet Medicine and several years’ experience in hospitality, she joined the yachting industry in 2019.

Since then, Raven has held the position of Stewardess aboard SY LOLALITA, a Privilege 65 which specialised in charters for scuba diving adventures and animal encounters, and her current role aboard SY BABAC.

Over this time, she has undertaken over 10,000 nautical miles in charter and experienced the cruising grounds of the Caribbean, sailing from Florida to Panama, along the coast of Central and South America, as well as the wonders of French Polynesia and the South Pacific.

In her role as Stewardess/Deckhand, Raven has drawn on her creative flair, solid skills in hosting, her ability to work as part of a team and her passion delivering outstanding charters. It’s her responsibility to maintain the yacht’s interior to a five-star standard, providing service and table settings for fine dining experiences and bartending/mixology to suit guests’ preferences. Raven is also responsible for the exterior maintenance and upkeep of the vessel, which she undertakes with gusto and precision.

Among her many skills, Raven is PADI certified, certified for driving powerboats up to 30ft and instructing guests in watersports and snorkelling adventures.

When time allows, Raven enjoys scuba diving, yoga, reading, travel, fishing and photography.

Questions & Answers

How does the charter contract work?

The contract is signed directly between the Owner and the Charterer, with the support of the broker. It is usually based on the international MYBA contract model, designed to ensure clear and balanced protection for both parties.
There is also the figure of the Stakeholder, responsible for safely holding the funds until the end of the charter.

What is included in the charter fee?

The base rate includes the rental of the yacht, the use of all onboard equipment, the presence of the crew, and the related insurance coverage.
Operational expenses such as fuel, provisioning, marina fees, beverages, and additional activities are not included and are managed through the APA (Advance Provisioning Allowance).

The exact list of what is included or excluded will be confirmed when selecting the yacht.

What is the APA and how does it work?

The APA (Advance Provisioning Allowance) is an advance fund, usually equal to 25–35% of the charter fee, allocated to cover operational expenses such as fuel, provisioning, marina fees, paid activities, beverages, and the guests’ personalized requests.

At the end of the cruise, the Captain provides a detailed breakdown of all expenditures. Any unused amount is refunded to the client, while any overages are settled directly upon closing the charter.

What are the payment terms?

Upon signing the contract, a payment of 50% of the total amount is required.
The balance — including APA, taxes, and any additional charges — is typically due around five weeks before embarkation (depending on the owner).
Payments are made via bank transfer, which is the standard method in the luxury charter industry.

Can I cancel a booking?

Yes, cancellations are possible, but the contractual terms apply.
In general, if the client decides to withdraw, the Owner retains the deposits already paid.

If the yacht is rebooked for the same period, the Owner refunds the amount recovered, minus the applicable commissions.

Every cancellation request is handled with full transparency.
Further details on the applicable policies are available upon direct request.

How can I choose the yacht that best suits my needs?

The choice depends primarily on the type of experience you wish to enjoy:

  • Motor yacht for maximum comfort, excellent stability, and fast transfers.

  • Sailing yacht for an authentic, quiet experience rooted in traditional navigation.

  • Catamaran for generous spaces, superior stability, and enhanced privacy.

BeBlue evaluates the destination, number of guests, personal preferences, and budget to select the most suitable option for you.

How far in advance should I book?

For peak season (Mediterranean: June–September; Caribbean: December–April), it is advisable to book several months in advance to secure the best available options.
We can also handle last-minute requests, depending on availability and licensing requirements.

Is it possible to personalise menus, preferences, and activities?

Absolutely. Before departure, you will receive a Preference Sheet where you can indicate your tastes, dietary needs, allergies, beverage preferences, and the activities you wish to enjoy.
The Chef and the Captain will use this information to create a fully customised experience for you.

How many guests can be accommodated on board?

Most yachts can host 6 to 12 guests, depending on their interior layout.
Some superyachts over 80 metres, compliant with international certifications, can accommodate up to 36 guests.

Will I have Internet access during the charter?

Most yachts offer Wi-Fi on board, provided through mobile networks or satellite systems. The quality and speed of the connection may vary depending on the cruising area and the technology installed.

Is tipping the crew expected?

Tipping is not mandatory, but it is a well-established custom to show appreciation for the crew’s service.
International guidelines suggest an amount equal to 10–15% of the base charter fee as a reference.
