Born in Athens, Greece, in 1984, Captain Spyros is a seasoned mariner. He graduated from the esteemed Merchant Marine Academy of Aspropyros in 2006, beginning a journey that led him from apprentice to chief officer, and ultimately to his passion in the yacht industry. With extensive experience at the helm of private and commercial yachts, Captain Spyros is a master of his craft. He's well-acquainted with the Aegean and Ionian Seas, crafting personalized island itineraries and coordinating onshore activities. Fluent in both English and Greek, his engaging sense of humor adds to the enjoyment. Beyond his maritime career, Captain Spyros is a certified PADI diver, indulging his passion for underwater exploration. This, combined with his diverse nautical background, ensures an unforgettable voyage. In Captain Spyros's capable hands, your maritime journey transforms into an immersive experience guided by expertise and a flair for the extraordinary. Chief Officer, Polychronis Evangelopoulos
Chronis, born in 1978 in Athens, began his maritime journey at the Merchant Maritime Academy of Aspropyrgos. His career kicked off aboard Hellenic Seaways Catamarans, including High Speed 4 and Flying Cat 2. In 2002, he transitioned to the luxury yachting industry, steadily advancing from Deckhand/Steward to Bosun and ultimately Chief Officer. Chronis has sailed extensively throughout the Mediterranean, fueled by his deep-seated passion for the sea, underscored by his Open Water Scuba Diving PADI qualification. Fluent in both Greek and English, he has served on notable yachts like M/Y Champagne Seas, M/Y Mamma Mia, M/Y Velvet,and M/Y Perseus.

Chief Engineer, Alexandros Karsanidis (Alex)
Chief Engineer Alexandros was born in 1972 in Athens, Greece, and graduated from the Merchant Marine Academy in Athens. He has worked with Captain Panos in the past and joined M/Y PATHOS in 2017. He is married and has 2 children. Alex commenced his career onboard tanker vessels, building experience, and knowledge, he then decided to switch his career and joined the yachting industry in 2001. He had previously worked together with Cpt. Panos for 6 very successful years onboard two luxury yachts. He speaks fluent English and Greek. Alex enjoys spending his free time cycling & reading books. He holds both a speedboat and a scuba diver license.

Chef, Fotis Koutantos
Fotis was born in 1973 in Athens. He has been working on Pathos since 2018. He is married and has 3 kids. He holds diplomas in Cooking and Patisserie from the “School of Tourism Professionals” in Anavyssos. Fotis started as a chef in some of the most well-known restaurants in Athens and has been in the yachting industry since 2012. Fotis is also a consulting chef in restaurants helping with their menu structure as well as their cuisine setup and training needs. He uses his talent and knowledge of fish to create new dishes inspired by Greek and Asian cuisine. He speaks fluent English & also communicates well in Italian. During his free time when not attending cooking seminars and exploring new creations & cuisine trends, he enjoys reading.

Chief Stewardess, Patra Magnisali
Patra, born in 1987 in Athens, holds a Bachelor of Science in Tourism Business Management. With a rich history in yachting, she boasts extensive experience on both private and commercial yachts. Committed to professional growth, she actively participates in seminars covering silver service, barista skills, and food and wine pairing. Fluent in Greek and English, Patra balances her career with a passion for fitness, tennis, travel, cultural exploration, sailing, and hiking. Notable past yachts include M/Y Champagne Seas, M/Y L'Equinox, M/Y Riva I, M/Y Sapphire, M/Y Alexandra, M/Y Dragon, and M/Y Summer Dreams.

2nd Stewardess, Alina Lomtatidze
Alina, our Second Stewardess, brings a wealth of experience to the yachting industry, boasting many years of dedicated service. With a background in hospitality, coupled with extensive onshore experience, her refined skills and graceful demeanor contribute significantly to the excellence of our Pathos interior department.Outside of her professional endeavors, Alina finds joy in various hobbies, including cycling, reading, and hiking.

3rd Stewardess, Cyril Adupe
Cyril was born in 1984 in the Philippines, and for the past 17 years, she has been living in Greece. Ever since she came to Greece, she has been working in the Tourism and Yachting industry specializing in hospitality and housekeeping. Her work experience includes working at five-star hotels and luxurious yachts. Cyril has been working on yachts for the past eight years. She speaks fluent English, Filipino, and Greek. She is married and has two kids.

Deckhand, Jerick Pol Reterba
Jerick Pol was born in 1978, after high school graduation he left the Philippines and has been living in Greece since 2003. With various previous experiences on different sized boats he joined Pathos four years ago. Jerick is very communicative and easygoing. He has a passion for Taekwondo and mountain bike trails.

Deckhand, Panagiotis Mantzavas
Panos was born in 1992 in Athens, Greece and graduated from the BBA in Applied Foreign Languages in Management & Economics. After completing his studies Panos started working as Dock based worker on Tan Cruiser Serifos. Panos loves his country and he is totally convinced that every island in Greece can become a memorable place for your vacations. In his free time, he enjoys wakeboarding and snorkeling. He is fluent in English.

How does the charter contract work?

The contract is signed directly between the Owner and the Charterer, with the support of the broker. It is usually based on the international MYBA contract model, designed to ensure clear and balanced protection for both parties.
There is also the figure of the Stakeholder, responsible for safely holding the funds until the end of the charter.

What is included in the charter fee?

The base rate includes the rental of the yacht, the use of all onboard equipment, the presence of the crew, and the related insurance coverage.
Operational expenses such as fuel, provisioning, marina fees, beverages, and additional activities are not included and are managed through the APA (Advance Provisioning Allowance).

The exact list of what is included or excluded will be confirmed when selecting the yacht.

What is the APA and how does it work?

The APA (Advance Provisioning Allowance) is an advance fund, usually equal to 25–35% of the charter fee, allocated to cover operational expenses such as fuel, provisioning, marina fees, paid activities, beverages, and the guests’ personalized requests.

At the end of the cruise, the Captain provides a detailed breakdown of all expenditures. Any unused amount is refunded to the client, while any overages are settled directly upon closing the charter.

What are the payment terms?

Upon signing the contract, a payment of 50% of the total amount is required.
The balance — including APA, taxes, and any additional charges — is typically due around five weeks before embarkation (depending on the owner).
Payments are made via bank transfer, which is the standard method in the luxury charter industry.

Can I cancel a booking?

Yes, cancellations are possible, but the contractual terms apply.
In general, if the client decides to withdraw, the Owner retains the deposits already paid.

If the yacht is rebooked for the same period, the Owner refunds the amount recovered, minus the applicable commissions.

Every cancellation request is handled with full transparency.

How can I choose the yacht that best suits my needs?

The choice depends primarily on the type of experience you wish to enjoy:

  • Motor yacht for maximum comfort, excellent stability, and fast transfers.

  • Sailing yacht for an authentic, quiet experience rooted in traditional navigation.

  • Catamaran for generous spaces, superior stability, and enhanced privacy.

How far in advance should I book?

For peak season (Mediterranean: June–September; Caribbean: December–April), it is advisable to book several months in advance to secure the best available options.
We can also handle last-minute requests, depending on availability and licensing requirements.

Is it possible to personalise menus, preferences, and activities?

Absolutely. Before departure, you will receive a Preference Sheet where you can indicate your tastes, dietary needs, allergies, beverage preferences, and the activities you wish to enjoy.
The Chef and the Captain will use this information to create a fully customised experience for you.

How many guests can be accommodated on board?

Most yachts can host 6 to 12 guests, depending on their interior layout.
Some superyachts over 80 metres, compliant with international certifications, can accommodate up to 36 guests.

Will I have Internet access during the charter?

Most yachts offer Wi-Fi on board, provided through mobile networks or satellite systems. The quality and speed of the connection may vary depending on the cruising area and the technology installed.

Is tipping the crew expected?

Tipping is not mandatory, but it is a well-established custom to show appreciation for the crew’s service.
International guidelines suggest an amount equal to 10–15% of the base charter fee as a reference.
