HIGHLIGHTS View
With calm waters and stunning views, the Bahamas are a paradise for sailing and boating. But it's not just the sea that attracts travelers from all over the world. The coasts are dotted with bays, coves, and protected harbors offering marinas and resorts equipped with every service. The Islands of Grand Abaco and Little Abaco are considered the "mainland". Marsh Harbour is the beating heart of Abaco, the perfect gateway to start your exploration. Here you find an authentic mix of local life, lively markets, and restaurants with the freshest fish. It's not just a stopover, but a real slice of local culture. Moving towards Great Guana Cay, you immerse yourself in a more relaxed and wild atmosphere, famous for its fine sandy beaches and the famous bar "Nippers", a must for those who love beach parties and memorable sunsets. Hope Town, on Elbow Cay, is a picturesque gem, known for its historic lighthouse, one of the few still with an oil lantern, an iconic symbol of these islands. The cobbled streets and pastel-colored houses take you back to a slower and more authentic time, a place where Caribbean charm is felt in every corner. Man of War Cay is instead the realm of sailboat craftsmen, where the tradition of shipbuilding is still alive and vibrant. Walking among the shipyards and seeing the master carpenters at work is an enriching experience, especially if you love sailing and nautical history. Otherwise, for those who love intimacy and unspoiled nature, Matt Lowes Cay is a little paradise rarely frequented, ideal for anchoring in quiet bays, exploring coral-rich seabeds, and enjoying a true break of silence and wild beauty.

It depends on the type of boat and the option chosen.
For a charter with a skipper, no boating license is required. In the case of a charter without a skipper (bareboat), you must meet the requirements of the regulations of the country where you are sailing and present an adequate nautical CV.
For more information on boating licenses and current regulations, consult the dedicated page:
