Domagoj Trgo, the captain of luxury sailing yacht Love Story, has more than 15 years experience in sailing business. He comes from a family with a long maritime tradition and this boat is the sum of many years of hard work, dedication and experience that he gathered over these years. Domagoj was born in 1983. He attended a vocational high school to gain education as a shipbuilding technician, and then moved on to attend the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture in Split, earning the title of naval architect. He spent the next few years working as a crew member on yachts in Croatia, focusing on nautical tourism and learning from captains with many years of experience. In the summer of 2005, Domagoj became the owner of the gulet Atlantia, and he continued gaining experience as a captain and as a host. His hard work and dedication earned him and his gulet a great reputation. In 2015, he bought the gulet Morning Star and refitted it. With a new ship, Domagoj is proving himself as an excellent captain, and his guests love him because of his cheerful attitude and kind manners. He has spent his whole life connected to the sea. From an early age, he started spending time on boats, sailing, swimming and playing water polo. Nowadays, he spends most of his time working on his boat and business, but when he finds free time, he enjoys reading, spending time with his wife and son and playing football. His wife has also worked with him in his business and has similar interests. She studied oceanography and marine research.

Ivan Trgo, born in 1988 he attended vocational high school for electronic technicians. After high school, he attended the MaritimeFaculty in Split, getting a degree in nautical science, and a skipper license.He has worked on numerous ships as a sailor and waiter, in several restaurants asa waiter, and he also worked as an electrician in theSplit shipyards. In recent years, he has joined his brother Domagoj in the family business. He has been helping with designing and maintaining the boats. He has been living in Ireland for a few years, so his English is at an excellent level. In his free time, he loves reading, music and travelling. He is a very friendly and cheerful person, and his love for travel and meeting new people makes him an excellent host and communicator. He will do his best to make your holiday on Love Story an unforgettable experience.

Krešimir Trgo, Domagoj’s brother, was born in Split in 2000. Although very young he is experienced working as a sailor and a waiter. He was connected with the sea from the early ages, as he started sailing with optimist on his own when he was 7 years old. During that time, he learned all about the winds and currents and gained his knowledge of life on the sea. When he was 16 he started working with his brother Domagoj on their yacht Morning Star and from that time on he continues to win over all the guests with his smile and kindness. Meanwhile, he learned all about luxury service while working on yachts and in restaurants. During the winter, he is studying Maritime Electrotechnical and Information Technologies on Faculty of maritime studies.

Filip was born in 1996 in Split, where he finished high school. Since he was a little boy, he loved the sea and ships. So it’s not surprising that he joined the Love story team. He is a qualified deckhand with experience in the yachting industry. He is a very responsible and hardworking person who is not afraid of facing new challenges but, at the same time, a person who wants to learn and progress daily. In his free time, he loves playing football and hiking with the crew during off-season periods.

Kristina was born in Split and grew up in a small town by the sea near Omiš. She has shown an interest in cooking since she was in high school, and over the years it has turned from a hobby into a professional job. Following quite a while of working in different industries, she accepted the position of head chef on a yacht, where she worked for 8 years. Through her work, she got to know numerous cuisines and teamed up with culinary experts from different nations. She shows excellent results in all segments of cooking and has a special love for desserts. She speaks English, is communicative and open to cooperation and suggestions from guests. Her longing is to satisfy every guest and furthermore give them a special experience of becoming more acquainted with the excellence of Croatia through food.

Ana Martinović was born in Supetar on Brač on January 11, 1996. She graduated from the Construction Geodesy Technical High School in Split and gained education as an architectural technician. She continued her education at the Logos College in Mostar, earning a Bachelor of Interior Design title. As the third child from a working-class family, she started working very young. She is unafraid of a challenge, loves learning new skills, and pushes her boundaries. She has many years of experience in tourism and working with people. Passionate about communication, she actively speaks and writes English and is familiar with the basics of Italian. She worked as a waiter and hostess in a restaurant and learned all about luxury service. She also interned in a furniture salon as an interior and custom-made designer, showcasing her creativity. Ana is very cheerful and kind and loves children. She lived and worked as a babysitter in London and, for the last half-year, in Jersey City. She loves to travel, explore new destinations, meet people, try different foods, and immerse herself in other cultures. Her hobbies include dancing and going to the gym. She likes to sing, spend time in nature, and hang out with her friends in her free time.

Andrea Buzov was born on October 30, 1996, in Split. She attended the School of Economics and Office Technology in Split and graduated with a major in Economics. Andrea developed a passion for exploration and communication growing up, influencing her career and personal pursuits. Andrea has held various roles throughout her professional journey, gaining diverse experiences. She started as an assistant cook and waitress at ff Stari Plac, followed by a position as a saleswoman and cashier at the Stradivarius store. Later, she worked as a maid on a tourist boat, broadening her skill set and understanding of customer service. Outside of work, Andrea dedicates her free time to a variety of interests and hobbies. She enjoys maintaining an active lifestyle through fitness and pilates. Additionally, she finds fulfillment in giving back to the community by volunteering at an asylum for abandoned animals. Her adventurous spirit leads her to explore new countries and cultures, where she thrives on experiencing diverse environments and meeting different people. One of Andrea’s lifelong passions is beautification, a love that has driven her to pursue manicuring for the past seven years. Through her dedication to self-improvement and her genuine interest in connecting with others, Andrea continues to navigate her journey with curiosity and enthusiasm.

Questions & Answers

How does the charter contract work?

The contract is signed directly between the Owner and the Charterer, with the support of the broker. It is usually based on the international MYBA contract model, designed to ensure clear and balanced protection for both parties.
There is also the figure of the Stakeholder, responsible for safely holding the funds until the end of the charter.

What is included in the charter fee?

The base rate includes the rental of the yacht, the use of all onboard equipment, the presence of the crew, and the related insurance coverage.
Operational expenses such as fuel, provisioning, marina fees, beverages, and additional activities are not included and are managed through the APA (Advance Provisioning Allowance).

The exact list of what is included or excluded will be confirmed when selecting the yacht.

What is the APA and how does it work?

The APA (Advance Provisioning Allowance) is an advance fund, usually equal to 25–35% of the charter fee, allocated to cover operational expenses such as fuel, provisioning, marina fees, paid activities, beverages, and the guests’ personalized requests.

At the end of the cruise, the Captain provides a detailed breakdown of all expenditures. Any unused amount is refunded to the client, while any overages are settled directly upon closing the charter.

What are the payment terms?

Upon signing the contract, a payment of 50% of the total amount is required.
The balance — including APA, taxes, and any additional charges — is typically due around five weeks before embarkation (depending on the owner).
Payments are made via bank transfer, which is the standard method in the luxury charter industry.

Can I cancel a booking?

Yes, cancellations are possible, but the contractual terms apply.
In general, if the client decides to withdraw, the Owner retains the deposits already paid.

If the yacht is rebooked for the same period, the Owner refunds the amount recovered, minus the applicable commissions.

Every cancellation request is handled with full transparency.

How can I choose the yacht that best suits my needs?

The choice depends primarily on the type of experience you wish to enjoy:

  • Motor yacht for maximum comfort, excellent stability, and fast transfers.

  • Sailing yacht for an authentic, quiet experience rooted in traditional navigation.

  • Catamaran for generous spaces, superior stability, and enhanced privacy.

How far in advance should I book?

For peak season (Mediterranean: June–September; Caribbean: December–April), it is advisable to book several months in advance to secure the best available options.
We can also handle last-minute requests, depending on availability and licensing requirements.

Is it possible to personalise menus, preferences, and activities?

Absolutely. Before departure, you will receive a Preference Sheet where you can indicate your tastes, dietary needs, allergies, beverage preferences, and the activities you wish to enjoy.
The Chef and the Captain will use this information to create a fully customised experience for you.

How many guests can be accommodated on board?

Most yachts can host 6 to 12 guests, depending on their interior layout.
Some superyachts over 80 metres, compliant with international certifications, can accommodate up to 36 guests.

Will I have Internet access during the charter?

Most yachts offer Wi-Fi on board, provided through mobile networks or satellite systems. The quality and speed of the connection may vary depending on the cruising area and the technology installed.

Is tipping the crew expected?

Tipping is not mandatory, but it is a well-established custom to show appreciation for the crew’s service.
International guidelines suggest an amount equal to 10–15% of the base charter fee as a reference.
