Tremiti Islands and Gargano - ID 505

Day 1: Check-in

Embarkation is scheduled for around 19:30. After the allocation of cabins and a briefing by the crew, dinner will be served on board.

Day 2

With the first light of dawn, we will cast off our moorings and head for the Tremiti Islands. With a sail of about three hours, we will reach the archipelago and start sailing more slowly to discover the countless caves and coves that hide these islands. After a welcome drink with a view of Cala Spido, we will sail to the island of San Nicola for lunch to drop anchor just in front of the Abbey of Santa Maria del Mare. In the afternoon, we will reach the magnificent Grotta delle Rondinelle on the island of San Domino for a few dips and a relaxing swim in its crystal-clear waters, and then enjoy an aperitif at sunset. Dinner on board and overnight at the island's roadstead or marina.

Day 3

This morning we will reach Cala dei Pagliai for a regenerating dive and to enjoy the tranquillity and magic of this place in the early hours of the day. We will then sail along the coast to the beautiful Grotta del Bue Marino (Sea Ox Cave) and the nearby Grotta delle Viole (Cave of the Violets), where we will be able to enter with the tender to admire the colours and play of light created by the reflection of the sea. Before lunch we will move towards the island of Capraia or Caprera: here you will be able to see the famous statue of Padre Pio on the seabed, which despite its depth of 13 metres is visible even at the surface of the water, so crystal clear is it. Lunch on board on the north side of the island of San Nicola, ready to go ashore in the afternoon to admire its towers, fortifications and abbey. Back on board we will go in search of the most protected and charming cove where we can have dinner and spend the night.

Day 4

After a rich breakfast on board, we will set anchor in the direction of Cretaccio, an islet between San Domino and San Nicola, which owes its name to the yellowish clay that makes it up. We will have lunch on board and in the early afternoon we will move to Cala Sorrentino: here we will visit the interior of the Grotta degli Innamorati with the tender and stop for a swim in this magical place. Before dinner, we will re-board to move to a cove sheltered from the wind where we will spend the night.

Day 5

This morning we set sail and leave the Tremiti Islands to sail back along the coast. With a sail of around four hours we will reach Peschici, where we will stop for lunch. In the early afternoon we set off again in the direction of Vieste, where - after a few stops along the way - we will arrive just in time to have dinner and go ashore for a stroll through its historic centre overlooking the sea. We will spend the night in port.

Day 6

Today we will devote the entire day to discovering the Gargano Coast and its spectacular natural scenery sculpted by the wind: one of them is the San Felice Arch, located in a sheltered bay, ideal for a lunch at anchor. In the early afternoon we will continue sailing along the coast to reach the most beautiful sights: Portogreco, Pugnochiuso, the white beach of Vignanotica, the Grotta Sfondata, the spectacular Faraglioni of the Baia delle Zagare, to name but a few... Return to port to dine and spend the night.

Day 7

After a good breakfast on board, you can get off to visit the beautiful Gargano hinterland. One of its pearls is undoubtedly the Foresta Umbra Nature Reserve: a nature reserve located within the Gargano National Park, where you can take an interesting guided tour on request. Alternatively, you can continue along the Gargano Coast to the 'Pizzomunno', an imposing 25-metre-high white limestone monolith, which is located on the Castle Beach at Vieste, south of the town. We will spend the afternoon in front of one of the picturesque caves along the coast for a last dive and have dinner on board. We will sail at night to return to the port of embarkation.

Day 8: Check-out

Last breakfast on board and expected disembarkation in the morning.

The itinerary may be subject to variations based on weather conditions, safety conditions and the technical assessments of the captain of the boat. This program is intended as indicative and not binding.
