HIGHLIGHTS View
Sailing along the southwestern coast of Turkey reveals a breathtaking landscape filled with hidden bays, ancient ruins, and crystal-clear waters that seem painted by hand. Fethiye is the vibrant heart of the region, a lively town that still preserves the authentic charm of Turkish tradition. Its streets are lined with colorful markets, local eateries, and artisan boutiques. The Grand Bazaar of Fethiye is an unmissable sensory experience: stalls overflowing with spices, fabrics, hand-painted ceramics, and local goods offer a feast of intense aromas, vivid colors, and an atmosphere that blends tradition with everyday life. Göbün Koyu is one of the region's natural gems, a peaceful bay surrounded by dense Mediterranean vegetation, where the scents of pine and rosemary mingle with the sea breeze. Trails climbing from the shore lead to stunning viewpoints, perfect for watching the sunset from a quiet, elevated perch. Not far away lies Gemiler Island, an open-air museum known for its scattered Byzantine ruins. The island is home to ancient churches, old dwellings, and even a charming stone path that leads to the summit, offering an unparalleled view of the bay below. Kizil Bay enchants visitors with its wild character and sheltered coves, ideal for those seeking peace far from the crowds. Nature reigns supreme here, with calm waters and small beaches accessible only by boat. It’s the perfect spot to sunbathe or explore marine life-rich seabeds. Sunsets in this area are particularly stunning, with the sky ablaze in shades of red behind the silhouette of maritime pines. Hamam Koyu, also known as Cleopatra’s Bath Bay, is one of the most fascinating places for those who love to swim surrounded by history and nature. The partially submerged ruins of an ancient Roman bath create a unique setting for snorkeling, where the past emerges through the waves. Lastly, Tersane Koyu is home to the ancient remains of an Ottoman shipyard, scattered among the trees and rocks, a powerful reminder of a time when this bay played a central role in maritime trade and naval construction.
