His skill set encompasses navigation, watchkeeping, mooring, efficient deck management, time management, and organizational acumen. A consummate team player, Valerios excels in environments demanding swift decision-making and actions. Known for going the extra mile, he prioritizes guest satisfaction during charters. Valerios has previously captained vessels such as M/Y Miren, M/Y Kakounou, and M/Y Ellen Exi, solidifying his reputation as a seasoned and reliable yacht charter captain.



CHIEF ENGINEER – Apostolos Priftakis
Nationality: Greek
Born in 1985, Apostolos is a highly experienced marine engineer with a strong background in both commercial shipping and yachting. He graduated from Aspropyrgos Marine Academy as an Engineer (up to 4000 kW) and has built an impressive career since 2005, serving on various oil tankers and motor yachts. Throughout his career, Apostolos has gained expertise in engine room management, electrical systems, and safety training, holding a wide range of professional certifications. He joined the crew of DAY OFF in 2024 as Engineer, where his technical knowledge and problem-solving skills ensure smooth and safe operations at all times. Apostolos speaks English and is known for his reliability, professionalism, and dedication to maintaining the highest standards onboard.

COOK - Odesa Dimaculangan
Nationality: Filipino
Odesa joined the crew of Day Off in 2021 but has been with the owner’s family for many years. From her very first season on board, guests have been captivated by her heartfelt cooking — flavorful, home-style dishes always prepared with fresh, quality ingredients. Skilled in both Greek and Oriental cuisines, Odesa’s repertoire ranges from homemade cookies and pastries to sushi and vibrant Thai creations. Her devotion to hospitality as well as accommodating personality are only some ingredients making this a recipe for an excellent onboard experience. Attentive to individual tastes and preferences, Odesa consistently goes above and beyond, making her an invaluable member of the team.

STEWARDESS – Cleo Genevieve Laude
Nationality: Filipino
Born in 1981, Cleo brings warmth, dedication, and a strong background in hospitality to the crew of DAY OFF. With a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology and over 14 years of experience in the hospitality industry, she joined the yacht in 2024, where she quickly became an essential member of the team. Cleo is a proud mother of two and has a natural passion for cooking and entertaining guests, always ensuring they feel comfortable and cared for during their time onboard. She communicates fluently in English and speaks a little Japanese.


DECKHAND - Eddie Paguio
Nationality: Filipino
Eddie was born in 1961 in the Philippines. He has been working in deckhand and steward positions of motor-yachts since moving to Greece, more than 30 years ago, and on-board DAY OFF since 2016. With a very positive and service-oriented attitude, he has a keen eye for detail, keeping all aspects of the boat in perfect shape. Guests remember him for his discreet and meticulous character and big smile!

DECKHAND - Raymar Sagun Sulit
Nationality: Filipino
Born in 1994, Raymar studied Basic Marine Transportation and began his career in 2013. He became part of the DAY OFF crew in 2024. Raymar holds a Small Powerboat and RIB Master certificate, ensuring safe and smooth operations on the water. Married and a proud father of one daughter, he combines professionalism with a grounded and approachable personality. In his free time, he enjoys playing basketball. He speaks English.

Questions & Answers

How does the charter contract work?

The contract is signed directly between the Owner and the Charterer, with the support of the broker. It is usually based on the international MYBA contract model, designed to ensure clear and balanced protection for both parties.
There is also the figure of the Stakeholder, responsible for safely holding the funds until the end of the charter.

What is included in the charter fee?

The base rate includes the rental of the yacht, the use of all onboard equipment, the presence of the crew, and the related insurance coverage.
Operational expenses such as fuel, provisioning, marina fees, beverages, and additional activities are not included and are managed through the APA (Advance Provisioning Allowance).

The exact list of what is included or excluded will be confirmed when selecting the yacht.

What is the APA and how does it work?

The APA (Advance Provisioning Allowance) is an advance fund, usually equal to 25–35% of the charter fee, allocated to cover operational expenses such as fuel, provisioning, marina fees, paid activities, beverages, and the guests’ personalized requests.

At the end of the cruise, the Captain provides a detailed breakdown of all expenditures. Any unused amount is refunded to the client, while any overages are settled directly upon closing the charter.

What are the payment terms?

Upon signing the contract, a payment of 50% of the total amount is required.
The balance — including APA, taxes, and any additional charges — is typically due around five weeks before embarkation (depending on the owner).
Payments are made via bank transfer, which is the standard method in the luxury charter industry.

Can I cancel a booking?

Yes, cancellations are possible, but the contractual terms apply.
In general, if the client decides to withdraw, the Owner retains the deposits already paid.

If the yacht is rebooked for the same period, the Owner refunds the amount recovered, minus the applicable commissions.

Every cancellation request is handled with full transparency.

How can I choose the yacht that best suits my needs?

The choice depends primarily on the type of experience you wish to enjoy:

  • Motor yacht for maximum comfort, excellent stability, and fast transfers.

  • Sailing yacht for an authentic, quiet experience rooted in traditional navigation.

  • Catamaran for generous spaces, superior stability, and enhanced privacy.

How far in advance should I book?

For peak season (Mediterranean: June–September; Caribbean: December–April), it is advisable to book several months in advance to secure the best available options.
We can also handle last-minute requests, depending on availability and licensing requirements.

Is it possible to personalise menus, preferences, and activities?

Absolutely. Before departure, you will receive a Preference Sheet where you can indicate your tastes, dietary needs, allergies, beverage preferences, and the activities you wish to enjoy.
The Chef and the Captain will use this information to create a fully customised experience for you.

How many guests can be accommodated on board?

Most yachts can host 6 to 12 guests, depending on their interior layout.
Some superyachts over 80 metres, compliant with international certifications, can accommodate up to 36 guests.

Will I have Internet access during the charter?

Most yachts offer Wi-Fi on board, provided through mobile networks or satellite systems. The quality and speed of the connection may vary depending on the cruising area and the technology installed.

Is tipping the crew expected?

Tipping is not mandatory, but it is a well-established custom to show appreciation for the crew’s service.
International guidelines suggest an amount equal to 10–15% of the base charter fee as a reference.
