Rafael grew up in Athens, Greece and learnt to sail from an early age. In 2010 he joined the MT Olympic Flair, as an Apprentice Officer. He spent 4 seasons in Tankers and in the summer of 2016, he began his yachting career on a 54metre yacht as 2nd Officer, working on various yachts in different positions, ultimately gaining his Class Certificate of Competency – STCW ’78 Merchant Marine Academy of Hydra Ministry of Shipping in early 2016. Since then, he has commanded yachts until 54metres in varying parts of the world, such as Aegean, Ionian and Adriatic Sea. He is energetic and hardworking, loves the sea and will make sure that the guests will have a safe trip and greatest satisfaction.

Ilias was born in Athens, Greece. He has graduated from the Maritime Department of University of Piraeus in 2010 and holds an Engineer Class B’ Diploma from K.E.S.E.N. He has worked from 2015 in the engineering. department as a 3rd Engineer on Tankers for total 3 years before joining yachting industry. He’s very hard working, easy going, well organized and does every job to the best of his ability. Ilias knows the importance of everyone on board working as a team for the common goal being a successful charter boat and has a very good eye for details. He speaks English & Greek.

Chef Georgios comes originally from Peiraeus, Greece. His passion for food came around 8 years ago, when he attended a Masterclass of the Greek Mediterranean Cuisine. Quickly inspired by the quality and taste of fresh produce he continued his trainings by doing Masteclass Thermomix, Roner and Siphon in 2015 and in early 2020 he attended Masterclass Sous Vide. He started his career to the Grand Resort Lagonissi, to develop his skills. From there George left Athens and moved to a resort in Samos. In 2017, he continued his career for 1 year in Germany in Meze Academie as a Chef de Partier. Soon, he returned to Greece to work as a Chef in a Resort in Mykonos. The yachting industry came to his life in 2020, when he took over as Chef for M / Y Alexander and the following year for M / Y Tourama. George always aims to please his customers. He goes above and beyond expectations, in order to the Estia Poseidon’s guests have the most enjoyable culinary experience whilst onboard. Chef George is determined that he wants to continue his career in the yachting industry and his objective is to satisfy culinary desires, embrace local produce, and provide guests with the highest level of cuisine. When he is not cooking, he loves playing football and tennis and he enjoys a lot travelling and discovering new destinations

Living in the Ionian island of Corfu since 19 years old, Galya is an adventurous and energetic personality. Before entering the yachting industry, Elena has worked in customer service positions. She decided to try the maritime industry as Stewardess in 2021, and she loved that it combined her passion for travelling and talent in clients’ satisfaction. Galya has traveled extensively during her time off as a solo traveler, she enjoys making new friends and takes every opportunity to explore new cultures. She speaks English, Bulgarian and Greek

Villaret holds a Bachelor of Science & Marine Transportation since 2000 and has been working at sea since 2004. His 17-years previous experience as Deckhand includes working on motor yachts from 22-118 meters. He started his Charter career at the Atlanta Colden Yachts in 2009 and since then, he never stopped sailing . As a member of our team, he is highly motivated and performs within safety and quality guidelines at all times.
Villaret’s nickname is Bhal and he is a very hard working and valuable member of the crew that is much appreciated by our guests.

Questions & Answers

How does the charter contract work?

The contract is signed directly between the Owner and the Charterer, with the support of the broker. It is usually based on the international MYBA contract model, designed to ensure clear and balanced protection for both parties.
There is also the figure of the Stakeholder, responsible for safely holding the funds until the end of the charter.

What is included in the charter fee?

The base rate includes the rental of the yacht, the use of all onboard equipment, the presence of the crew, and the related insurance coverage.
Operational expenses such as fuel, provisioning, marina fees, beverages, and additional activities are not included and are managed through the APA (Advance Provisioning Allowance).

The exact list of what is included or excluded will be confirmed when selecting the yacht.

What is the APA and how does it work?

The APA (Advance Provisioning Allowance) is an advance fund, usually equal to 25–35% of the charter fee, allocated to cover operational expenses such as fuel, provisioning, marina fees, paid activities, beverages, and the guests’ personalized requests.

At the end of the cruise, the Captain provides a detailed breakdown of all expenditures. Any unused amount is refunded to the client, while any overages are settled directly upon closing the charter.

What are the payment terms?

Upon signing the contract, a payment of 50% of the total amount is required.
The balance — including APA, taxes, and any additional charges — is typically due around five weeks before embarkation (depending on the owner).
Payments are made via bank transfer, which is the standard method in the luxury charter industry.

Can I cancel a booking?

Yes, cancellations are possible, but the contractual terms apply.
In general, if the client decides to withdraw, the Owner retains the deposits already paid.

If the yacht is rebooked for the same period, the Owner refunds the amount recovered, minus the applicable commissions.

Every cancellation request is handled with full transparency.

How can I choose the yacht that best suits my needs?

The choice depends primarily on the type of experience you wish to enjoy:

  • Motor yacht for maximum comfort, excellent stability, and fast transfers.

  • Sailing yacht for an authentic, quiet experience rooted in traditional navigation.

  • Catamaran for generous spaces, superior stability, and enhanced privacy.

How far in advance should I book?

For peak season (Mediterranean: June–September; Caribbean: December–April), it is advisable to book several months in advance to secure the best available options.
We can also handle last-minute requests, depending on availability and licensing requirements.

Is it possible to personalise menus, preferences, and activities?

Absolutely. Before departure, you will receive a Preference Sheet where you can indicate your tastes, dietary needs, allergies, beverage preferences, and the activities you wish to enjoy.
The Chef and the Captain will use this information to create a fully customised experience for you.

How many guests can be accommodated on board?

Most yachts can host 6 to 12 guests, depending on their interior layout.
Some superyachts over 80 metres, compliant with international certifications, can accommodate up to 36 guests.

Will I have Internet access during the charter?

Most yachts offer Wi-Fi on board, provided through mobile networks or satellite systems. The quality and speed of the connection may vary depending on the cruising area and the technology installed.

Is tipping the crew expected?

Tipping is not mandatory, but it is a well-established custom to show appreciation for the crew’s service.
International guidelines suggest an amount equal to 10–15% of the base charter fee as a reference.
